Been meaning to do a proper #introduction here: My name is Matt and I've been a part of the #fediverse since 2018. I don't do #bigtech, so all my profiles are spread across #holos (my main), #pixelfed, and #lemmy. Senior #fullstackdeveloper who's pivoting into #devops, Building an #indieweb/#smallweb blog. I'm into a lot of different topics, was previously majoring in #sociology with a focus on #socialjustice.

As a long time punk musician, I agree. Same goes for every alternative and metal band I was in. However, take a look at The Ramones Wikipedia and you'll see that a quarter of Queens, NY was in the band.

@winner7828@ap.velveteen.one Oh wow, this makes all the sense now. Even though we don't know each other at all, I'm putting out all the positive energy I can for your recovery. I've had a couple surgeries and I remember the anxiety of it as it got closer to the day it was scheduled.

Over the last couple of days, I've come to realize that I feel the most comfort to speak openly here on #holos. I'm on #Lemmy, #mastodon and #pixelfed as well... but I seem to compartmentalize some aspect of myself to fit into a perceived mold or expectation of how I --should-- post.

I'm sure that type of self-policing has a clinical name in #psychology or #sociology circles. Until I hear the name for it, in just going to call it ridiculous and try to stop doing it.

It appears my strong urge for mashed potatoes has left me with babysitting an overfilled pot.

I never learn my lesson...

@ben Same with the Alice in Chains unplugged. Layne was barely there for that.
